DMV Piano Clinic provides professional piano tuning, action regulation, and repair throughout Montgomery County, including Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Rockville, North Bethesda, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Kensington, Wheaton, Gaithersburg, Olney, and Germantown.
Your piano is a live instrument, and Maryland's hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters affect it every year. Regular tuning keeps it sounding the way it should and prevents bigger repairs down the road.
About Your Technician
Seong Nam has over 20 years of experience caring for pianos across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. He holds advanced music degrees, served 18 years as an adjunct professor at the George Mason University School of Music, and has performed 25 years as a professional chorister with the Washington National Opera. That musician's ear is what sets his tuning apart.
Travel to Montgomery County
A travel fee may apply for locations more than 20 miles from Ellicott City, MD. However, when I can schedule your tuning together with other appointments in your neighborhood, the travel fee is waived. Contact me and I'll let you know the next available day near you, and I will always tell you any travel cost ahead of time, so there are never surprise charges.
What to Expect
A standard tuning takes about one hour. For most home pianos, I recommend tuning twice a year, once after summer and once after winter.
What Clients Say
I am the Senior Minister at The United Baptist Church in Annandale, VA. After our piano technician retired, Seong Nam helped us get 4 pianos back up to quality performance capability and humidity control. He is also a teacher, so we learned the value of and how to be more proactive with preventive piano maintenance and repairs. We have 3 uprights, 2 of which get vigorous use from a variety of skill levels and 1 was unused for years. Our main Sanctuary piano is in a large room with inconsistent seasonal temperatures and extreme humidity levels, but his maintenance and tuning has improved its performance, extending its life for our church budget. His rates are appropriate and a good value for his expertise. His being a professional vocalist and choral director provides added insight for our church's worship needs and community concert events. - Pam M.
